When you visit this site you can enter youraddress and a map will pop up with your house as a small icon of a house. There will be red, blue and green dots surrounding your entire neighborhood. When you click on these dots a picture of a criminal will appear with his or her home address and the description of the crime he or she has committed.
The best thing is that you can show your
children these pictures and see how close these people live to your home or school.

YOU MUST KNOW *77

I knew about the red light on cars, but not the
*77. It was about 1:00 pm. in the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on. Lauren's parents have always told her never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather to wait until they get to a gas station, etc.

Lauren had actually listened to her parents advice, and promptly called *77 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away.
She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if there were police cars where she was and there weren't, and he told her to keep driving, remain calm and that he had back up already on the way.

Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her and the unmarked car behind her.. One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes.

Heard of ice?

In case of emergency - an awesome idea

 >>>Paramedics will turn to a victim's cell phone for clues to that
>>>person's identity. You can make their job much easier with a simple
>>>idea that they are trying to get everyone to adopt: ICE.
>>>
>>>ICE stands for In Case of Emergency. If you add an entry in the
>>>contacts list in you r cell phone under ICE, with the name and phone
>>>no. of the person that the emergency services should call on your
>>>behalf, you can save them a lot of time and have your loved ones
>>>contacted quickly. It only takes a few moments of your time to do.
>>>
>>>Paramedics know what ICE means and they look for it immediately. ICE
>>>your cell phone NOW!

DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU

I received a telephone call last evening from an individual identifying
himself as an AT&T Service technician (could also be Telus) who was conducting a test on the telephone lines. He stated that to complete the
test I should touch nine( 9 ), zero( 0 ), the pound sign ( # ), and then hang up.

Luckily, I was suspicious and refused.
Upon contacting the telephone company, I was informed that by
pushing 90#, you give the requesting individual full access to
your telephone line, which enables them to place long distance calls billed to your home phone number.

I was further informed that this scam has been originating from
 many local jails /prisons

DO NOT press 90# for ANYONE !
The GTE Security Department requested that I share this
 information with EVERYONE I KNOW.
After checking with Verizon they said it was true, so do not
 dial 90# for anyone!!!!!

THINGS YOU NEVER KNEW YOUR CELL PHONE COULD DO.

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it

FIRST Subject: Emergency
The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile; network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.

SECOND Subject: Have you locked your keys in the car?
Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button on other set of keys, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk). Editor's Note It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car over a cell phone!"

THIRD Subject: Hidden Battery Power
Imagine your cell battery is very low.
To activate, press the keys *3370# Your cell will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.

FOURTH Subject: How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 #   A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. If or When your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones. And Finally....

FIFTH Subject: 411 Information Charges

Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don't have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial (800) FREE 411, or 800-373-3411 without incurring any charge at all. Program this into your cell phone now.  This is the kind of information people don't mind receiving, so pass it on to your family and friends

A lady police officer passed this on to me and I felt that it might be of some benefit for others.
Put your car keys beside your bed at night. If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies. This tip came from a Neighborhoods watch coordinator.
Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think of this: It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation. Test it. It will go off from most everywhere inside yo! ur house a nd will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key chain.
It works if you park in your driveway or garage. If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break in yo ur house, odds are the burglar or rapist won't stick around....after a few seconds all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't want that. And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there.....

This is something that should really be shared with everyone.
Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime!

SAVE A LIFE KNOWING HOW TO CHECK A PERSON FOR STROKE. IT COULD BE SOMEONE YOU LOVE.

STROKE:  Remember The 1st Three Letters... S.T.R.

            STROKE IDENTIFICATION :

During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and  took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food.  While she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening.. Ingrid's husband called later, telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00pm,  Ingrid passed away.)  She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.

It only takes  a minute to read this...

A   neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours,  he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick  was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient  medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

            RECOGNIZING  A STROKE
Thank  God for the sense to remember the "3" steps, STR . Read and  Learn!

Sometimes  symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of  awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage  when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke. Now doctors  say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple  questions:

S *            Ask the  individual to SMILE.

T  *         Ask the  person to TALK & SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (coherently,  i.e., It is sunny out today).
           R*
Ask him or her  to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

NOTE  :  Another 'sign'  of a stroke is this:  Ask the person to 'stick'  out their tongue. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the  other, that is also an indication of a stroke.

If  he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 911 immediately!!  and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

A  cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail  sends it to 10  people;  you can bet that at least one life will be  saved.

You can kill germs on your wet sponge by putting it in the microwave for 2 mins. (make sure the rag or sponge is wet before you put it in the microwave), spraying your counter down with bleach, and soaking bleach in your sink with enough water to cover the bottom. You can also spray down the sides with bleach. Courtesy of foxnews.com/health.

Check out your doctors before you need them. Type in medical board in the search to find your state medical board.

Beware; carjackers have a new way to get your car. They put a piece of paper in the middle of your rear window, and when you get out, they get in. If you see this take off from where you are parked and take it off later.

Be careful of those hotel room key cards - when you check out of a hotel and return the key card, some hotels don't always delete the information on them until they reuse them. What information is on them? Your names, part of your home address, hotel room number, check in and out dates, and your credit card number. Bad people can scan this info. Off the cards and use it.

What to do? Keep the cards and destroy them when you get home.
